Tesonet and Žalgiris Group are joining forces to build a new global sports and entertainment business, Confluence Valley, combining sports infrastructure expertise with technology, investment and international expansion capabilities. The new venture will focus on acquiring and developing arenas and stadiums, supporting sports organisations and creating new sports and entertainment experiences across international markets.
Confluence Valley brings together the complementary strengths of its two partners. Žalgiris Group contributes decades of experience in sports, events, arena operations and team management, while Tesonet brings its experience in building and scaling technology businesses, deploying digital solutions and entering global markets.
The venture is built around a simple idea: sports infrastructure can be much more than a venue. When combined with the right technology, teams, content and business model, arenas and stadiums can become long-term economic and community assets for the cities around them.
The new company will be led by Paulius Motiejūnas, who previously held senior leadership positions at Žalgiris and the EuroLeague. His experience in managing sports organisations and understanding the needs of international markets will support Confluence Valley as it builds its global footprint.
„The sports and entertainment infrastructure market is changing rapidly. We have an opportunity to take a model that has already proven itself and adapt it to new markets. Our goal is not simply to operate more venues, but to build an integrated model connecting teams, infrastructure, events, technology and fans,“ says Paulius Motiejūnas, CEO of Confluence Valley.
Technology at the core
Technology will be one of the key differentiators of Confluence Valley. The company plans to use data, digital products and emerging technologies across team management, venue operations and fan experiences.
For sports organisations, data-driven tools can support better decision-making, improve operational efficiency and create new commercial opportunities. For venues, technology can enable more flexible infrastructure and help transform arenas and stadiums into spaces capable of hosting everything from local events to international competitions.
The same approach will be applied to the visitor experience. From purchasing a ticket to navigating the venue, accessing content and engaging with an event, Confluence Valley aims to create a seamless, technology-enabled experience for fans and visitors.
The venture will also explore opportunities to invest in and develop new technologies for sports and entertainment, creating solutions that can be deployed across its growing international portfolio.
Taking a proven model beyond Lithuania
The launch of Confluence Valley is also part of Tesonet’s broader approach to international growth: build from a strong home-market foundation, combine technology with operational expertise, and scale proven models internationally.
The company is already assessing opportunities across European markets. More than 40 conversations have taken place with potential partners and stakeholders in different regions as Confluence Valley evaluates where its model can create the greatest long-term value.
Investments will focus on opportunities where the company can combine its existing sports and event expertise with new markets, technologies and partnerships — with the ambition of creating value not only for teams and venues, but also for cities and local communities.
The international expansion of Confluence Valley will also create opportunities for Žalgiris and Kaunas, helping attract more international sports and entertainment events, artists and visitors to Lithuania. In turn, this can contribute to the city’s international visibility, tourism and wider economic impact.
