Why do you collect information about me?

Start-up applications: We are always looking for ways of helping prospective startups and founders take off. Therefore, we encourage them to apply via our platform. When you submit a start-up application with Tesonet or otherwise communicate with us in relation to cooperation and investment opportunities, such application or communication may contain some limited amount of personal data of the company’s founders, management, employees, representatives or persons related to the company which we will process for the purposes of handling your application or communication. Recruitment: We are always looking for bright minds, and if you are one, we encourage you to contact us and join our awesome team. When you apply to open positions at Tesonet, your publicly available professional background is suitable for us, or someone you know refers you to us, we process your personal data for recruitment purposes to assess your application and your suitability to enter into an employment contract and suggest a job offer for you. Marketing & events: We also provide an opportunity to subscribe to our newsletter, updates and other information related to business and investment opportunities, services and events of Tesonet group, as well as to register for events organized by Tesonet and Tesonet group.  

What information do you collect and use?

Start-up applications: We collect, use, and store the following information on persons related to the company that is necessary for the purpose of handling your start-up application: name, surname, position, e-mail address, information about your company and non-disclosure agreements, application, references,  other information provided by you. Recruitment: We collect, use, and store the following information which is necessary for recruitment purposes as described above: Name and surname, E-mail address, Age, Telephone number, Address, Education, Languages proficiency, Certifications, Recommendations, Additional training, CV, Attachments to your CV, Cover letter, Employment history, Current workplace, Non-disclosure agreement, LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL, Personal website URL, Tasks performed by you, Interview notes about you, Desired salary, other information submitted by you. When applying, please do not include information on your personal identification numbers in the submitted documents and any other sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation), information on family relations, or similar information that is not necessary for the recruitment process. Marketing & events:  If you register for events, subscribe to the newsletter and other information, use our Contact Form, or interact with us in relation to our products, services and events, we will process the name and email address you have provided, as well as the information about your position, company you represent, the field of work, preferences and events you have registered to, participate at or are interested in, communication with you, other information you provide us with.  

What is the legal basis for the processing of the data?

Start-up applications:  If you provide us with your personal data, you give us your consent to collect, use, and store that data for the above purposes. In case the start-up application contains personal data of persons other than the one submitting the application, it is the sole responsibility of you as the applicant to inform those persons about the provision of their personal data to Tesonet. In the latter case, we will collect, use and store such information based on our legitimate interest in processing the start-up application you submitted. Recruitment:  We have the intention to enter into a contract with you – when you apply for a particular job position and we assess your suitability for the role; You have given consent to the processing of your personal data  – when you permit Tesonet to contact you about future job opportunities; We have a legitimate interest to gather and process your personal data from legitimate sources  – when we find your publicly available professional background suitable for us or someone you know refers you to us. We base data collection from social media profiles on our legitimate interest to assess specific qualities for specific job functions; We never ask for special categories of data (e.g., health data) as mandatory during the recruitment process. If you nevertheless provide us with such data, the legal basis for processing is your consent. Marketing & events: You have given consent to the processing of your personal data  – when you subscribe to our newsletters, updates and other information about our products, services and events, as well register for events. We have a customer relationship with you – where you have purchased our products, services and registered for events in the past.  We have a legitimate interest in providing you with information on our products, services and events  – in other cases where you may be interested in receiving such information or our said interests are not otherwise overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.  

Is there a requirement to provide the data?

We collect personal data if you use the website or voluntarily transfer them to us by contacting us, for example, via a subscription, Start-up application, Job application form or email. We will only collect your personal data with your consent or as permissible under applicable data protection law. You have to provide us with the information only in cases where we need to assess your start-up or job application and your suitability to enter into a start-up cooperation arrangement or an employment contract and suggest a job offer for you. You are not legally obliged to provide us with your personal information under the statutory requirement. However, in case you do not provide us with this information, we will not be able to assess your start-up or job application and your suitability to enter into an employment contract and suggest a job offer for you, as well as other arrangements.

Where do you get my information from?

Generally, we collect the information directly from you. However, some of the information we obtain from the following parties for the purposes of recruitment or processing start-up applications: Tesonet group companies, related and affiliated companies and their employees (referrals); job portals; tech schools and academies business-related social media sources and/or collaboration platforms. If we collect any information from your social media profiles, we make sure that it is relevant to the job position at our company.  We may also collect personal data related to your professional life from third parties, such as references supplied by former employers, colleagues, or someone you know.

Who do you share my information with?

  • We share the information about you with the following entities only where necessary and permitted by applicable laws and only for the above purposes.
  • We use various service providers for the processing of your personal data, such as email service providers, web hosting service providers, other information technology infrastructure service providers, and others. They might have access to your personal data, but only to the extent necessary for us to receive their services. In any case, we make sure they protect personal data according to applicable legal requirements;

  • Lever Inc. (USA) (applicant tracking software provider) (data are transferred and protected in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses);
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Ireland)., Meta Platforms Inc. (USA) (social media and marketing service provider) (data are transferred and protected in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses);
  • Google Ireland Ltd. (Ireland), Google LLC (USA) (service provider providing cloud computing services) (data are transferred and protected in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses);
  • Citrix Systems UK Ltd. (UK / USA) (Podio project management software provider) (data are transferred and protected in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses);
  • Iterable Inc. (USA) (marketing service provider) (data are transferred in accordance with EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
  • How long do you store information about me?
Start-up applications: 10 (ten) years unless you and other persons related to the company consent to longer data storage periods.  Recruitment: 5 (five) years. If you become an employee, we will save your information within the employee file. Marketing & events: 10 (ten) years unless you consent to longer data storage periods. 

What rights do I have?
